Jonathan Nolan, who is the brother of The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan, has spoken out in defence of Tom Hardy, claiming that his portrayal of Bane in the forthcoming Batman movie is spectacular. Jonathan, who co wrote the screenplay for The Dark Knight Rises stated that he believes that fans of the franchise will not be disappointed.
Nolan explained, "I've gotta tell you, I think what Tom Hardy is doing with the role is spectacular. I've had the benefit of seeing a little bit more than the audience has seen, at this point, and it's pretty spectacular. It's an amazing team with my brother, David Goyer and myself. Those are two great guys to work with and brainstorm with.”
He added, "I think Chris has long wanted to do the aerial spectacular. It's such a good fit for the IMAX cameras that he likes to shoot with, and so that was a long time in the making." Fans of the Batman movies had complained that they could not understand what Bane was saying in The Dark Knight Rises prologue but both Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan insist that it will be fine. The Dark Knight Rises is set to hit the big screen on July 20.
