Jordana Brewster and Paul Walker had a very close bond. After starring together as romantic partners in almost five films, shot over a period of ten years, it would be hard not to develop such a bond. They both shot to fame with the first Fast and Furious film back in 2001, and since then have been partners together in every single installment save Tokyo Drift.
Paul's death came as a shock to everyone, most of all his friends, family, and co-stars. Everyone close to Paul, including his Fast and Furious family, has spoken up about Paul's death over the past week.
Jordana released a full statement regarding Paul's death, saying, "Paul was an enormous presence in my life for the past fourteen years. While many would be satisfied with material success it made Paul more convinced of the need to help others. He lived with integrity, humanity and humility and seemed most happy when talking about his daughter, Meadow. I don’t know anyone who lived each moment more fully and loved life more than Paul; making his loss all the more heartbreaking.”
As of now, production on Fast and Furious 7 has officially been halted, and it's not clear whether it will pick back up again. Universal released a statement saying they were taking a break from production, and would focus on regrouping. It's possible they will conduct script re-writes or re-cast, but they would be smarter to just take as much time as possible to allow everyone to grieve properly.
