The Dark Knight Rises actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt is set to appear on the big screen in the movie Lincoln, which will see Daniel Day Lewis playing the 16th US President. Joseph has been talking about Lincoln and has been praising Daniel for his performance in the movie.
Gordon-Levitt told Flicks and Bits, “I had absolutely no problem believing that I was speaking to Abraham Lincoln. Which is sort of mind-boggling because... I grew up in the US, I have Abraham Lincoln on my pennies and on my $5 bills.”
He added, “He's this iconic figure in our psyches, so to see an actor so seamlessly just become this figure and have no problems believing he was him, that's really an accomplishment.” Joseph also touched on the father/son relationship between his and Daniel’s characters.
He continued, “They didn't have a great father-son relationship, it was quite strained. Abraham Lincoln was largely absent when Robert was young, he was on the circuit.”
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Daniel Day Lewis star alongside Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, John Hawkes, David Strathairn, James Spader, Jared Harris, David Oyelowo, Walton Goggins and Jackie Earle Haley in Lincoln, which is set to be released in the US on November 16 and in the UK on January 25, 2013.
