Josh Bowman is sending a message that he wants to play complex, 'dark', challenging characters to casting agents, producers and directors in Hollywood and Europe. That is the impression some entertainment observers are getting after a picture of him from the set of his new movie 'Level Up' was released to the Internet.
In the photo the talented actor is sporting a beard and has a focused, brooding look on his face which leaves no doubt about him being an individual whom people would not want to anger or be on his bad side. The picture is intriguing because in the movie 'Level Up' in which he is plays the lead role his character is a hero who has to fight his way across the city of London to save his kidnapped girlfriend.
As such, one would almost be ready to label him the hero but his picture has some entertainment observers very enthused because he does not give the impression of a 'happy' hero but instead leaves viewers thinking of a dark, moody individual and these type of characters provide an actor much more of an opportunity to display their dramatic range which fits perfectly with his situation because he is an actor who possesses an extensive dramatic acting range.
His desire to play a 'dark' character is not a complete surprise to some entertainment insiders after his comments from an interview with TV Guide following the killing off of his character on the show 'Revenge' in which he stated that while he loved his time on the show he was finding it difficult to play the role because of how the character's personality was constantly changing and thus he had asked for the character to be an incredibly horrible person if he were to be kept on for another season (KpopStarz - March 2).
In 'Level Up' it seem that the actor now has his wish to be able to play a character with a 'dark' side to his personality and with his acting talent his portrayal of this character could set him up for some very challenging roles in other big screen projects.
Josh Bowman is on course to move from small screen star to big screen 'star' in 2015 starting with the film 'Level Up'.
