There are a lot of top stars in the world of motor sport these days, with plenty of these stars competing against one another in the AMA Superbike series. There were few who would have tipped Josh Herrin to win the 2013 AMA Superbike series championship but the talented 23-year-old did just that.
It is obvious that Josh Herrin is a very talented racer and, much like the rest of the guys on the grid, Josh has been into motorbikes ever since he was a young boy. Josh was recently chatting to Crash.net, when they asked him how he got into motorbikes, suggesting that it might have been his father's influence.
He explained, "Yeah, he raced out in California and did a few AMA races. He was always doing it on his own. He was quick enough to be a top-15 AMA Superbike rider back when Nicky Hayden and Ben Bostrom were in the class. He was into motorcycles and he got me into it. It's always been a family thing and we'd always go out to deserts on our dirt bikes together. When we realised that I liked riding we ended up buying some minibikes for me to ride and it started from there."
Following his success winning the 2013 AMA Superbikes series championship, Josh Herrin was given the fantastic reward of being signed up to race in Moto2 for the new Tony Fernandes Caterham project. Josh will race with Frenchman Johann Zarco on a Suter chassis for 2014.
