In a series of MTV interviews, Josh Hutcherson opens up about the ‘Catching Fire’ experience.
He first talks about how the shoot’s going and the differences that director Francis Lawrence is bringing to the franchise, saying, “It’s very different, but at the same time, we did keep the essence of the original story. A lot of the same kind of feel of the Capitol and the feel of the characters and the different worlds. I also feel like the scope of the movie is bigger, we have a lot more effects, the arena’s a lot more interesting because of all the different technical aspects of it.”
He also added that he ‘loves Francis’ and has been having a ‘really good time’ so far.
In addition, he talks about the new cast, saying, “Sam Claflin and I hit it off and become really good friends, so it’s a really fun cast.” He also added, “He [Sam] is just one of those guys that is always down to have a fun and is genuinely a good person, and we have a very similar sense of humor. Um, he likes to play soccer and I play soccer. Kind of, it’s just really a great match. Everything kind of melded together nicely.”
