The Avengers director Joss Whedon is currently working on the Marvel television series S.H.I.E.L.D. and he has admitted that he hopes to have Cobie Smulders in the show as much as possible. Cobie will be returning as Maria Hill but her commitments to the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother will limit how much she is in S.H.I.E.L.D.

Joss says that he will be trying to get Cobie Smulders to come in and shoot as many scenes as she can, whenever she is free to do so. He also spoke about the hopefulness of the show, saying that it makes a change from some of the grim and violent shows out there at the moment.
Whedon told TV Line, "I’m excited about the show because it’s a very hopeful show. It’s not about murder, and it’s not about crime, and it’s not people looking into their own belly buttons. It’s about people who are trying to help each other, and that’s one of the things I loved about comic books. They had costumes and the villains were cool [but] they stood for something, and I like doing a show that does that."

S.H.I.E.L.D. will also see the return of Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson and it is expected that the show will be picked up for a full season by ABC. Filming for S.H.I.E.L.D. is currently winding down and we cannot wait to see what Joss and the team have come up with.
