While Joss Whedon has been receiving a lot of attention for directing the upcoming Marvel movie blockbuster The Avengers, it seems that there is another project that he feels equally as strongly about. Joss co-wrote the movie The Cabin in the Woods with Drew Goddard, who directed the project and Joss claims that it was a labour of love.

Whedon explained, "It is a genuine labour of love, and it's a love of creepy horrible things. It was a joy to write, really difficult to make, and then of course the studio went bankrupt and the roof caved in.”
He added, "That happened a couple of years ago - it just blossomed [since then], Lionsgate came and said, 'By the way we love this'. They've done such a wonderful job with it and all of a sudden Drew and I are standing around going, 'Oh, here we go!' It's an absolute joy."

The Cabin in the Woods was shot way back in 2009 but its release was delayed due to the problems with MGM. However, The Cabin in the Woods, which stars Chris Hemsworth is finally set to hit the big screen this week.
