The Avengers director Joss Whedon was one of the people responsible for bring Firefly to the television screen, back in the early 2000s. Unfortunately, Firefly ended after just one season but Joss has admitted that he regularly thinks about trying to get everyone back together, to bring Firefly back to the small screen.
Whedon was talking to Toronto Sun, when he explained, “I'll never really accept it and I always, in the back of my head, think, 'What if I could get the old gang back together?' Well, you know, it's something I would love to do.”
He added, “When I made Serenity, I said here's one thing I'll never do again -- a movie based on something that some people know about and some people don't, with tons of characters who all know each other and who you have to introduce. And then my second movie was The Avengers. Part of me is like, 'God, it would be great when I finish Avengers 2 to do that.”
Joss Whedon is currently working on The Avengers 2, which is set to see the return of some of our favourites stars, including Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo. The Avengers 2 is set to be released on May 1, 2015 in both the US and the UK.
