Hollywood writer and director Judd Apatow has opened up about the child murder joke that is in his new movie This Is 40. With the recent tragic events that have taken place in Connecticut, it was expected that this scene would be removed from the movie, but that does not seem to be the case.
The scene sees a character line up his children, with a hose in his hand and joke about killing them one by one, as he squirts them with the hose (see script below). Now, Judd has stated that he wrote the scene two years ago and is sorry if people connect it with the recent Newtown massacre.

Apatow told TMZ, “[the scene] is spoken by a sarcastic father kidding with his children. In light of recent events, I understand if some people might make an unfortunate association or put it in a context in which it was not intended.”
This Is 40 is a sort of sequel to the movie Knocked Up, although it has been claimed that it is not a direct sequel. The film stars Leslie Mann, Paul Rudd, Jason Segel and Megan Fox and is set to be released in the US on December 21 and in the UK on February 14, 2013.
