Writer and director Judd Apatow has admitted that, when it comes to making films, his wife Leslie Mann has the final say. Judd says that, when he is writing a script, he polishes it off and then gives it to Leslie to read and, if she likes it, it gets made and if she doesn’t like it, then it doesn’t get made.

While talking to Deadline, Apatow explained, “The first person to read it is Leslie because we talk a lot about it. Leslie doesn't like reading the early, really c**ppy drafts, so I tell her how it's going and talk through the scenes with her.”
He added, “Then when I feel like it's pretty decent, I give her the script. I'm also well aware that if she doesn't like it, we're not making the movie. So that's actually the only scary read for me.”
