Dancer turned actress Julianne Hough is making positive movies in the movie making world, appearing in some interesting roles. Up next for Julianne is the movie Paradise, which sees her playing Lamb, a young women who changes her strict lifestyle, after surviving a plane crash. Talking about the movie, Julianne says that she can relate to her Paradise character.
During a movie with Entertainment Tonight, Hough explained, "I grew up in a conservative state, Utah, and especially the town and the school I went to. First I went to London, which was a complete culture shock, and then to LA, which was completely opposite of what our Mormon folk in Utah have gone through."
Meanwhile, writer and director Diablo Cody spoke about the message of the film, adding, "You know I was very happy when I wrote this, as strange as that might sound. And I think there's a lot of sincerity in this movie that might take people by surprise - especially coming off a movie like Young Adult, which is very cynical. I just felt like I wanted to write something about healing and about survival, and just something that would bring positivity into the world."
As well as starring Julianne Hough, Paradise also features Russell Brand, Octavia Spencer, Holly Hunter and Nick Offerman. Paradise will hit the big screen in the US on October 18, while an official release date for the UK has yet to be determined. Check out the Paradise trailer, below.
