Grey's Anatomy is going to have a lot in store for Justin Chamber's character Alex in season 10, particularly in the romance department. Jo and Alex's budding relationship has the potential to go to the next level; if they can grow together and face the challenges that are in store for him this season.
"They're sort of juvenile in their can't-keep-their-hands-off-each-other-ness" Chambers told TVLine. "They've got a lot of growing up to do." However, if that growth happens, Chambers said he feels that this relationship could be the real thing for Alex.
Jo also helps Alex learn to lighten up and have fun as he deals with another tricky relationship in his life. This season Alex will also have to deal with his father, an abusive drug addict played by Dexter's James Remar. As he navigates that rocky relationship, his relationship with Jo could be a real source of strength.
"Jo is going to be there to kind of pick him up and tell him to get on with it," Justin said. According to Justin, Jo and Alex share the same background, which should deepen their relationship.
Grey's Anatomy airs on ABC Thursdays at 9pm.
