Fans have been very excited and eagerly awaiting the upcoming Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy for the past couple of years now and the time has almost come for the films big release. With Guardians of the Galaxy opening later this week, the fans will be out in force to celebrate and enjoy what is being called the biggest and best Marvel movie to date.
British actress Karen Gillan plays the role of Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy and the actress is no stranger to the sci-fi genre, having been in Doctor Who in the past. Karen has now opened up about shooting Guardians of the Galaxy, admitting that there were a lot of similarities to shooting Doctor Who back in the day.
Gillan was chatting with the guys over at the Radio Times, when she told them, "There are actually a lot of similarities because it's sci-fi. There's a lot of green screen and reacting to things that aren't there, so I feel like I was trained up for it. But the main difference is that everything is just bigger in scale. More set, more people... just a bigger budget."
As well as starring Karen Gillan, the impressive all-star cast for Guardians of the Galaxy includes the likes of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, and Benicio Del Toro, as well as the voices of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper. Guardians of the Galaxy is directed by James Gunn and will open on July 31 in the UK and August 1 in the US.
