The gender of Kate Middleton's baby has been debated and discussed on every possible avenue available to royal baby-watchers, even with Kate denying that they would know the sex of the baby in advance. However, she has recently admitted that she would like to have a baby boy if it was up to her.

While celebrating St. Patrick's Day on Sunday, when handing out shamrock springs to the soldiers in the Irish Guard, Kate spoke to Guardsman Lee Wheeler, according to the Associated Press. The AP reports that Wheeler told them that he asked Kate, "I asked her 'do you know if it's a girl or boy?"
She reportedly replied, "not yet. I'd like to have a boy and William would like a girl." Kate also reportedly said that they haven't yet settled on names for either a girl or boy.

Kate is currently 5 months pregnant, and the baby bump was clearly visible in her royal blue overcoat. While she has tried to keep pregnany details under wraps, it will be difficult with the ever increasing scrutiny on her and her unborn child, especially now that their rules have been amended to allow the first child to be heir even if it's a girl.
