It has been reported that the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, was so nervous before giving her first ever public speech, that it was reminiscent of the movie The King's Speech. Kate was so worried about the speech that she felt she needed some help before it took place.

Middleton apparently turned to Prince Charles, who helped her, along with a royal advisor, with some speech training, much like Colin Firth did as King George VI in The King's Speech. An insider explained, “You need to remember that Kate had never spoken publicly before, so it's understandable that she was nervous.”
The insider added, “She was stressed about stumbling over her words and letting herself down. So she asked her advisors for training in the hope that it'd raise her confidence levels.”

After her maiden speech, Kate Middleton received praise from a number of people, as she seemed confident, self assured and gave a very solid speech. So, it seems that her speech training must have worked and she will certainly take heart from the response she received.
