Kate Winslet is reportedly in talks for an unspecified role in the Neil Burger directed ‘Divergent’. Lionsgate, the studio behind ‘Divergent’, has been calling it the next ‘Hunger Games’. As Lionsgate is also the studio behind the Hunger Games trilogy and the Twilight Saga, they know what they’re talking about.

Shailene Woodley is 'Tris' in Divergent
Divergent definitely has a lot of themes in common with ‘Hunger Games’, chief of which being that they are both set in post-apocalyptic worlds with strong female protagonists. ‘Divergent’ has already cast Shailene Woodley as its lead, with the search ongoing for the male lead, Four.
Variety reports that Winslet’s role isn’t clear, but she is nearing a deal to appear in the movie. Winslet most recently appeared in ‘Contagion’ and will next be seen in the comedy ensemble ‘Movie 43’. The fact that she rarely appears in movies, but is choosing to do ‘Divergent’, should be an indication of the movie’s potential.
