Following the amount of relationships that came to an end in 2013, there were high hopes that 2014 was going to be a much improved year and that we were going to see relationships blossom rather than fall apart. While 2014 has been a fairly decent year for high-profile relationships, it has not been all happy as there has been the odd break-up and now we have another one to add to it.
Singer Katy Perry has been in a relationship with fellow singer John Mayer for some time now, although the couple have had their ups and downs along the way, with the occasional short-term split here and there. Unfortunately though, it looks like John Mayer and Katy Perry have now split for good, after Katy decided to call time on their relationship.
While it does look like this break-up will be for good, it does seem that Katy Perry and John Mayer will still remain friends, as their split is said to have been very amicable and under the friendliest of circumstances. While the actual reasons for the break-up have not been officially confirmed, there have been suggestions that their busy schedules have led to them drifting apart.
The split comes not too long after Katy Perry and John Mayer collaborated on the track Who You Love together, which will feature on the new John Mayer album Paradise Valley. Lets hope that this latest high-profile split is not a sign of what is to come, as we are not sure we can cope with the amount of break-ups that we had last year again this year.
