John Mayer and Katy Perry have broken up for the second time since they began their high profile relationship way back in the summer of 2012. Perry and Mayer first began dating amidst speculation that they were each other's rebounds, but they didn't confirm it until well into their relationship. However, they soon broke up in August, only to be reunited again quickly the next month. They have now split once again, but sources don't know whether the split will be permanent or not.

A source tells US Weekly, "It's sad. It's not over until it's over. You have to see how things play out." Another source adds, "She's leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work."
Perry has been busy recording her third album in the studio while Mayer is preparing for his upcoming tour. Following their first breakup and reconciliation, the duo seemed inseparable and Mayer even publicly spoke about how happy he was with Perry, something that he's rarely, if ever, done before.
