‘California Girls’ singer Katy Perry has been voted as the Sexiest Woman in the World 2011 in an FHM style Australian list. Katy is currently on a tour of Australia and took time out to speak to Perth Now, "That's amazing. I won? Really? Wow I can't believe it. I don't know what the criteria is for this award, but I endorse it wholeheartedly."
Perry, who is on the front cover of June’s issue of Vanity Fair, was beaten to first place in the UK version by the new female face of Transformers, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Rosie will be replacing Megan Fox as the female lead in the third instalment of the hit franchise, Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Someone making their first appearance in the Sexiest Woman in the World competition is 65 year old actress Helen Mirren who debuts at number 96. Speaking of this latest achievement Mirren said "It's flattering of course and I will accept that. But I hate the pressure that women put on other women constantly. I don't like the pressure men put on women even worse, but it really makes me angry when women put pressure on other women. You know, stop! Stop it!”
