British actress Keira Knightley has revealed that, while shooting the film Pride and Prejudice, she was constantly getting told off by director Joe Wright. Joe was very clear about how he wanted Keira to portray her character, Elizabeth Bennett in the 2005 film, and he didn’t mind making sure she knew too.
Knightley admitted that he would often tell her off, "'Shut your mouth and stop doing the pout!' he was yelling at me” she explained with a laugh. She also revealed that she had to convince director John Maybury to cast her in the 2005 movie The Jacket as he wasn’t convinced by her acting style.
Keira said "He didn't want to hire me, his producers forced him to meet me. He finally met me and said, 'I am sorry but I don't think you know how to act.'" Keira has been criticised in the past for her acting style with many critics calling her wooden and emotionless.
