Country music star Keith Urban seems to be settling in nicely to his new role of judge on the latest season of American Idol. Keith has admitted that the only other judge he had not met before was Nicki Minaj and he has been presently surprised by his fellow judge

Urban explained, "I’ve never met Nicky before the show, we all met the night before the very first shooting and that was the first time I had met Nicky – Ryan, Mariah and Randy I had met before. But the very next day when we got into the shooting what I really liked about Nicki was just her straight shooting, directed at me (laughs). For me, growing up in Australia, I like being around people that are just raw and straight and tell it like it is, so I just clicked with Nicki."
He also spoke about Mariah Carey, adding, "Mariah responds to people in her own way. For me, I have always found a real connection with singers and musicians and so joining this panel was like joining a band – I am on guitar, Randy is on base and we have these two chick singers – and we are a band, and that’s what it feel like to me."

Nicki Minaj has been receiving a lot of praise from many different critics, since Ameican Idol began its twelfth season and is proving a huge success with fans of the show.
