Suffering such a huge and devastating loss as a miscarriage is always going to be hard to come to terms with no matter who you are, yet it must be so much harder for someone in the entertainment industry to take in, as it happens in the public eye. That is exactly what happened to British model Kelly Brook, who had a miscarriage back in 2011 at six months pregnant.
Kelly Brook was with her Rugby player boyfriend Thom Evans at the time of the miscarriage and she has revealed how they decided to come to terms with their loss. Kelly says that she and Tom decided to try for another baby right away and fell pregnant again. Unfortunately though, the couple experienced a second miscarriage.
The Sun have been teasing extracts from the new Kelly Brook autobiography, which reveals, "After the miscarriage Thom and I decided it was time to make a fresh start ... Thom proposed. He'd bought a beautiful ring. I immediately said yes. The miscarriage actually brought us closer together."
She added, "Later I went to see my doctor, who said, 'The best way to get over this is to try and get pregnant again'. So Thom and I weren't careful, and just before Christmas 2011, I got pregnant again. The look on Thom's face said it all. I think he was terrified ... I had another miscarriage after a few weeks."
The relationship of Kelly Brook and Thom Evans came to an end not too much longer after they lost their second child. Kelly Brook is now dating former Gladiator star David McIntosh, with the couple engaged to be married.
