There has been a huge amount of talk about the future of the iconic television character Doctor Who, with the role being taken on by some of the best British talent in the acting industry over the years. Scottish star Peter Capaldi is the current Doctor Who and has done a very solid job indeed, but he has admitted that he is calling time on the role, opening the door for a new star to take over as the Doctor.
Well, as is always the case these days, when an iconic role becomes available, there are always many people who begin calling for a woman to take over the role, despite it always being played by a man, and that is exactly what has been happening with Doctor Who. There has been a lot of people insisting that the time is now right for the first female Doctor Who, with many British actresses having their name suggested.
One of the names that recently caught our eye, was that of the beautiful Kelly Brook, who is best known for her modelling work but has also dabbled in the acting game over the years. While Kelly has struggled to make the breakthrough in Hollywood, she is still a fairly big name in the UK, so landing the role as Doctor Who, which is also popular in the US, could be the springboard that her acting career needs.
Will Kelly Brook replace Peter Capaldi as Doctor Who? We very much doubt it but we are not writing off the chances of a woman landing the role. It will certainly be interesting to see what the reaction from the fans would be, should an actress become the new Doctor Who. Watch this space!
