Former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson is set to appear on television in a brand new reality singing show for ABC, titled Duets. The concept of the show is similar to all of the others, it sees celebrity mentors perform live on stage every week with their mentee and the eventual winner will receive a recording contract with Hollywood Records.
Clarkson explained, “The simple fact that I get to go out and find two people that I believe in, sing with them every week, and help them accomplish their dream is an amazing thing that I can't wait to be a part of.” Kelly recently admitted that she could not understand why people were so surprised by her love of reality singing shows.
She said, “People have given me such a hard time. I came from a singing show, so I like singing shows, obviously. What was the big shocker there"
Kelly Clarkson is joined on the ABC series Duet by other artists including Lionel Ritchie, Robin Thicke and Jennifer Nettles. Duets is set to premiere on ABC later this year, with a summer start looking the most likely.
