Only one month after first season American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson wed Brandon Blackstock, they announced via Twitter on November 19 that she and her new husband were expecting their first child. She wrote, "We are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever!"
The "Tie It Up" singer admits the only reason she decided to confirm the news was due to severe 'morning sickness' she suffers. During an appearance on the TODAY show, November 26, Clarkson stated, "we were trying to wait to tell everyone until the end of my first trimester because you're less likely to have a miscarriage.", she said, "Everyone kept asking about it and due to sickness I was forced to cancel a few things.I knew people would just think I was being lazy so we decided to tell our news!"
Although much too early to determine, Kelly and husband are convinced that they are going to be blessed with a little girl. In a recent interview conducted before the news released, she contributed her sickness to carrying a daughter. The mommy-to-be explained. "Of course it's a girl causing the trouble. So, it's gotta be a girl!" She confessed that her and husband, Brandon have already picked out both girl and boy names but she explained, "We aren't saying because we don't want someone stealing our baby's name and it's just so early. She excitedly added with a laugh, "We named our kid before we were even pregnant!"
Only time will tell whether constant nausea or all-day sickness proves to be the signs of a healthy bouncing girl or handsome boy. As for now, best wishes and lots of luck are wished to the expecting couple.
