The original American Idol Kelly Clarkson has revealed how she was extremely nervous before performing at this year’s Super Bowl, even though she had sung the American National Anthem more times than she could possibly remember. However, Kelly admits that, the thought of performing with the Indianapolis Children’s Choir certainly helped to settle her nerves.
Clarkson explained, "I have probably sang the National Anthem a thousand times and have never been nervous, but I definitely was last night at the Super Bowl! That was the longest minute and a half of my life. I was very excited as well because of the drum line and the Indianapolis kids choir that were performing with me.”
She added, “They made the performance stand out a lot more and those kids sounded so ethereal and beautiful! It was a huge honour to get to sing the anthem and I'd be proud to do it again!" NBC were forced to make a public apology, after singer M.I.A stuck up her middle finger during her Super Bowl half time performance with Madonna.
