Writer Kelly Marcel has been given the task of adapting the hit novel Fifty Shades of Grey for the big screen and she has been talking about the raunchiness of the film. Kelly says that the Fifty Shades of Grey movie will have to have an NC-17 rating, although she did admit that there is more to the film than just sex.

Marcel told Style magazine, “Well, there is going to be a lot of sex in the film. It will be NC-17. It’s going to be raunchy. We did go through and decide which are our favourites [sex scenes] and which are not. Most of them are in there, but I can’t say more than that. I don’t care what anybody says, there is something about Christian that is old-fashioned and romantic.”
Meanwhile, Universal seemed to contradict Kelly, by stating that, since they have yet to see a completed screenplay, there is no rating for the movie, “A screenplay has not yet been written, a rating has not been designated and we have no further comment,” they explained.

Ian Somerhalder is the fans favourite to play Christian Grey
The Fifty Shades of Grey movie has yet to cast anybody in any of the lead roles but there have been plenty of rumours about who could be starring in the film. It appears that Ian Somerhalder is the fans favourite to play Christian Grey, while Alexis Bledel is the favourite to play Anastasia Steele.
