There was once a time when it seemed that getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was for those who had truly achieved greatness in Hollywood and would forever be remember as being a legend of the industry, so it is understandable that there are still some people in the world who are quite surprised to learn just how many people have been honoured with a star on Hollywood Boulevard.
Just take the wonderful Kelly Ripa, for example. Kelly had the honour of getting herself a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in October last year, although when she discovered she was being honoured in such a way, she could not get her head around it. Kelly says that she was so shocked by getting her own star, because she was convinced that the Hollywood Walk of Fame was only for dead people.
Ripa was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier in the week, when she explained to the surprised host, "I'm going to be honest, when they told me I was getting a star, I said, 'I thought you had to be dead to get one of those!' And then I told my husband and he said, 'I thought you had to be dead to get one of those' - we had no idea that live people (can get one)... We live in New York, there's nothing like it there."
Meanwhile, Kelly Ripa is in for a very busy few days, as she is set to make her way to Los Angeles in order to attend the Academy Awards, before then having to return home ready to present her Monday morning post-Oscars show the very next day. Good luck Kelly, we hope you don't get too tired from it all!
