We have had so many different singing competitions on television over the years, with the likes of American Idol, The Voice and The X Factor, and in a few weeks time we will see the ABC premiere of the series Rising Stars. While it tries to claim to be different, the fact of the matter remains that it is people singing in front of judges, hoping to win a record deal. Nothing new there then.
Anyways, among the judges on Rising Star we will see the beautiful and talented Kesha, as well as the handsome singer Josh Groban, both of whom have been talking about the show. As well as teasing us what to expect from Rising Star, the judges have also hinted that there could be a possibility of them collaborating in the future.
Kesha says that the contestants are going to find Rising Star brutal, explaining, "Your career will either live or die in one song on this show. America is watching. America is voting. It's insane pressure. I don't wish it on anyone. But I'm really excited to watch it."
Meanwhile, Josh Groban says the judges have a lot of respect for one another, "I think she's been craving a nice baritone, operatic voice. We all respect each other a great deal artistically. I always like to expect the unexpected," he added.
As well as having Kesha and Josh Groban as judges, Rising Star will also see Ludacris and Brad Paisley on the judging panel. Rising Star will premiere on June 22 on ABC and it will allow viewers to vote via an app, allowing them to have the final say in real-time. We look forward to it!
