The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to get bigger and better with every year and there are still plenty more characters from the comic book world that we have yet to see on the big screen. One of the new characters that Marvel are bringing to the big screen is Ant-Man and fans cannot wait to see how the character will fit into the current universe.
There was a lot of speculation for quite some time as to who should and would play the role of Ant-Man in the big screen adaptation, before it was finally announced that Paul Rudd has been cast in the role. Now, Marvel president Kevin Feige has opened up about the upcoming movie, revealing the reason why they chose Paul Rudd to play Ant-Man in the movie.
Feige was speaking to Empire magazine, when he said, "Look at that origin of the petty crook who comes into contact with a suit and does his best to make good, and then look at someone like Paul Rudd, who can do slightly unsavoury things like break into people's houses and still be charming and who you root for and whose redemption you will find satisfaction in."
As well as starring Paul Rudd in the lead role, the Ant-Man cast will also include Evangeline Lilly, Patrick Wilson, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Michael Peña and Matt Gerald. Ant-Man will be directed by Edgar Wright, based on the screenplay written by Joe Cornish, with a release date planned for July 17, 2015 in both the US and the UK.
Do you think Paul Rudd will make a good Ant-Man?
