Even though actress Chloe Moretz has confirmed that she would love to reprise her role as Hit Girl in Kick-Ass 2 and the rest of the cast have also said they would love to return for a sequel, it is looking increasingly doubtful. Just ask Mark Millar, the creator/writer of Kick-Ass.
Mark explained, “Everybody involved suddenly got hired for a million different things, and re-forming the band again would be impossible. Hopefully, we can use the same actors if and when we do a sequel, but getting Matthew Vaughn to direct or Jane Goldman to write a movie at this budget would be very difficult because they’re superstars now and they have projects of their own.”
Although it does seem that Mark Millar is still keen on making a Kick-Ass 2 but the concept of the sequel would have to change. The characters in the Kick-Ass comics are still in high school but the longer it takes for a sequel to be made, the older the cast of Kick-Ass are getting. Don’t hold your breath over a Kick-Ass 2 being made.
