As expected the rest of the US tour for the Kings of Leon has been cancelled following the bad press from the weekend when Caleb Followill walked off stage citing illness as the reason. This has left the band with seemingly no choice but to cancel the remainder of their US tour.
A spokesperson for the band said "We are so sorry to say Kings of Leon are canceling their entire US tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion. The band is devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break. Unfortunately, the US dates cannot be rescheduled due to the band's international tour schedule."
Caleb Followill walked off stage at the Kings of Leon's last gig saying "My voice is completely 100-percent wrong, I'm sorry, I'm about to fall down here because I'm so goddamn hot…I'm gonna go backstage for a second. I'm gonna vomit, I'm gonna drink a beer and I'm gonna come back out here and I'm gonna play three more songs." However, the plot thickened when he never returned.
The following day, bassist for the band, Jared Followill issued an apology over the show ending early.
It looks like all fans who had tickets for the now cancelled shows will get an immediate refund, but no promise of a reschedule as the band have a tough tour on the International stage this coming year.
The spokesperson was keen to make a point of the issue that this doesn't mean Kings of Leon are splitting up because of the constant band unrest rumours.
