The sexism in Hollywood debate is one that is not going to go away until somebody actually takes action and does something about it. We have heard from plenty of stars giving their opinions on the sexism in Hollywood issue, with the beautiful Kirsten Dunst becoming the latest star to voice her concerns.
Kirsten Dunst has been working in the acting industry since she was a very young girl and has gone on to enjoy a long and successful career in Hollywood. While most of the sexism debate has been about the actresses not being paid as much as the actors, Kirsten decided to focus her comments on directing.
Dunst explained, "I think it's easier for mediocre male directors to be in this industry. As a female you can be a director, but you have to be amazing – that's the disparaging part to it. You have to be really great to get in there."
She then went on to talk about falling back in love with acting, adding, "When I was younger, I actually felt anxious when I wasn't working. Then there was a moment where I was kind of sick of [acting]. But then it shifted for me and I re-loved it in a different way."
Not finished there, the beautiful actress also admitted that her looks have definitely helped her career, "To be an independent artist, the only way you really make money is by getting a beauty campaign… Thank God, they're the reason why I can do my art."
While Kirsten Dunst has become one of the top actresses in Hollywood, it is expected that she is going to make her directorial debut very soon. We cannot wait to see what she brings us.
