Kit Harington has had an interesting career thus far – not too big, but well known enough to be in the mix for some high-profile parts. He is, of course, a major part of ‘Game of Thrones’ and most of his visibility comes from that role. However, as the rigid schedule of television doesn’t allow for much downtime, Kit’s hard to squeeze in his other projects during the hiatus.
So what’s happening with his career? Arguably one of the biggest breakout actors from GOT [along with Emilia Clarke], he was reportedly attached to a Warner Brothers re-imagining of ‘Arthur and Lancelot’.
However, that project got pulled when WB got nervous about how large the budget was getting, and they didn’t want to take a risk on unknown actors [which, despite Game of Thrones, Kit Harington still is]. They then signed Colin Farrell to that project, but even that didn’t pan out so they’re back in development.
Then, there’s Pompeii – it was announced last week that Harington had joined the Emily Browning in ‘Pompeii’, a period action adventure film that follows the main characters on the eve of Mt. Vesuvius’ volcanic eruption. If it all pans out, this could be the first major film role of Kit’s career – and right now, it looks promising.
