British actor Kit Harington has become a global superstar and a household name around the world, thanks to his performances in the hit HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones. This has led to Kit becoming somewhat of an action hero now, landing the lead role in the upcoming movie Pompeii.
Kit Harington had to get into the shape of his life for his role in Pompeii, which meant a very strict diet, consuming 1,800 calories, while he also had a four-hour a day workout, which included two hours of sword fight training, one hour of cardio and one hour of weights. With the movie due to open later in the month, Kit has spoken about his diet and workout routine.
Harington was chatting to the guys over at Vanity Fair daily, when he explained to them, "That involved four weeks prior to the movie’s starting, of going to this room with our wonderful stunt people and training very hard every day, and learning swordfights with one sword, and two swords."
As well as starring Kit Harington, Pompeii boasts an impressive cast which includes the likes of Emily Browning, Kiefer Sutherland, Jessica Lucas and Carrie-Anne Moss, to name just a few. Pompei is directed by Paul W. S. Anderson and will open on February 21 in the US, before eventually hitting the big screen in the UK on May 2.
