It has been confirmed that, 24 year old, English Game of Thrones actor, Kit Harington has won the battle for the role of King Arthur in the forthcoming Warner Bros. movie, Arthur and Lancelot. Kit managed to beat of stiff competition for the role, including his Game of Thrones co star Richard Madden and Snow White and the Huntsman actor Sam Claflin.
Kit Harington is best known for his portrayal of Jon Snow in the hit HBO fantasy television series Game of Thrones and his success from that show has brought him big screen roles. Kit has already filmed the horror thriller, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, which is set to be released next year and now he has his second movie role as King Arthur in Arthur and Lancelot.
The screenplay for Arthur and Lancelot was penned by David Dobkin, who will also be directing the project. The part of Lancelot has been won by Joel Kinnaman, while the part of Merlin is believed to be played by Gary Oldman, although that is yet to be confirmed. Arthur and Lancelot is set to begin filming early next year, with the aim of releasing the movie on March 15, 2013.
