It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Kristen Stewart has a stylist – after all, she is the lead actress to a billion dollar franchise and also the face of Balenciaga. However, usually based on Stewart’s red carpet looks [which often includes sneakers with a fancy dress and unwashed hair], you have to almost wonder what the stylist is doing.
Well, now we know – Kristen Stewart doesn’t listen to her either. Stewart’s stylist is Tara Swennen, and she is also the stylist of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kate Beckinsale, just to name a few.
Swennen's definitely a powerful Hollywood fashion name, but even she admits that she gets frustrated sometimes. When talking about Stewart’s refusal to wear heels with her dresses, she says [via Vogue], "[Kristen] will always change into her Converse halfway through a red carpet, which is to be expected at this point, but she puts on the heels for me for the photos, God bless her. At the end of the day, I want my clients to be comfortable because I think it shows. She needs to put on her sneakers and that's alright with me. It's part of her personality. I think it's fun when she does it. But there are definitely times when I have to say, 'Please, please, please put the heel on just for me.”
She also adds that since the Twilight era was coming to an end, they wanted to experiment with some stronger looks for the last leg of Breaking Dawn promotion. Swennen says, "Twilight is coming to a close so we wanted to do stronger looks. Just recently, she's embraced doing the long gown thing, so it was definitely an opportunity for me to stick as many as I could on her," she said. "Through the years, she's come into her own and so now she's letting me play a little bit more… She's become a woman since I've known her. She's a tomboy at heart - both of us are - but she understands that fashion is an arena, that she can be a chameleon and not dress the way she does every single day."
