While Marvel have been absolutely dominating the comic book movie scene in Hollywood over the past few years, they are now looking to bring some of their other characters into the fold, with a handful of upcoming series on Netflix over the next few years. We will first get to see the Daredevil series hit Netflix in 2015, which will then be followed by A.K.A. Jessica Jones, as well as an Iron Fist series and a Luke Cage series, leading to the team up series The Defenders.
A few weeks back, it was confirmed that actress Krysten Ritter has been cast in the role of Jessica Jones for the new Netflix series, with the actress beating off some stiff competition for the role. Krysten has now opened up about landing the lead role in A.K.A. Jessica Jones, admitting that she was as well prepared for her audition as she could possibly be.
Ritter told Collider, "Listen, I always just try to prepare and do as much prep work as possible and do my best and not think about anything else. So I left feeling like 'I can sleep tonight either way' as I feel like I did a good job. So, that's it, it was a long process though."
She then went on to reveal what her thoughts were once she got the call confirming that she had been cast, adding, "Honestly, I was like, 'I just want to get to work immediately'. I was screaming and stuttering and lost for words and I just wanted to get to work."
The casting of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones has had a rather mixed response from fans but we will wait until A.K.A. Jessica Jones hits Netflix before we pass judgement. Do you think she was the right choice for the role?
