Kylie Bisutti won the Victoria's Secret Angel search a couple of years ago, but after a short period of being an Angel, she ended up quitting the industry and moving back home. In a new interview with the NY Post, she explains why she decided to give up on her dreams.
Kylie explains that when she first moved to New York, she didn't realize how tough the modeling industry was going to be - but when she became an Angel, she started to feel that she had made it. However, those illusions were soon shattered when she started modeling and going to parties hosted by VS.
She explains, "Two years after I won the Angel Search, I realized I didn’t want to model anything that sold sex. At the time, a Victoria’s Secret lingerie show was airing on TV, and I was looking at Twitter and saw loads of tweets from women comparing themselves to the impossible image of the models.... I realized my career was sending a bad message to women about confidence and body image."
She also makes a brief mention of Miranda Kerr when discussing VS models married to celebrities, and mentions that Victoria's Secret Angels are told to play down their marriage if it's not to someone famous. While Kerr did fit into that category considering that she's married to Orlando Bloom, she also ended up parting ways with Victoria's Secret a couple of days ago.
