It has been suggested that the family of the late singer Amy Winehouse have blamed her death on the decision to give up alcohol all together. Amy was recommended by a doctor to stop binge drinking and slowly drink less and less at a time but Amy was adamant that it was all or nothing and quit the booze completely.
A source explained, "Abstinence gave her body such a fright they thought it was eventually the cause of her death." Amy’s father Mitch also hit out at claims that Winehouse had been on a 72 hour drinking bender, claiming that it was the opposite that most likely killed her.
The insider continued, "He said doctors had told Amy to gradually reduce her intake of alcohol and to avoid bingeing at all costs. Amy told him she couldn't do that. It was all or nothing and she gave up completely. Mitch said the shock of giving up, after everything she had been through over a bad few years, was just too much for her to take.” Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London flat on Saturday. She was only 27 years old.
