Singer Lady Gaga has come in for some criticism of late for her latest album ARTPOP which has not been selling anywhere near as well as her previous records. However, while some have been taking the opportunity to have a dig at Lady Gaga, British singer Lily Allen has jumped to the defence of the kooky star.
Lily Allen says that, while some people have been quick to criticise Lady Gaga, she feels that Gaga deserves credit for deciding to make an artistic record rather than simply aiming for commercial success. Now, Lady Gaga has responded to Lily Allen's kind words, even sending some words of praise back in her direction.
Lady Gaga was a guest on Radio One this morning when she told Scott Mills, "That's really very sweet. I've always been a big fan of hers. I appreciate her standing up for artists and for me in particular. That's really, really admirable of her to do that."
Gaga also went on to admit that she believes more artists should be supportive of one another, ''I think all artists should stand up for one another because when it becomes a competition, we're not supporting production of creativity and art. She's always had that old soul heart so it doesn't surprise me. I thought that was very sweet - thank you Lily, you're lovely!"
In the new music video for her new single G.U.Y., Lady Gaga features the women from the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, admitting that she sees them as a group of empowering women. What do you think of the Lady Gaga album ARTPOP?
