Lindsay Lohan has come in for a lot of criticism following the release of the TV movie Liz & Dick, where she portrays screen legend Elizabeth Taylor. The majority of the critics who have seen the movie, which aired on November 25, have panned the performance of Lindsay.

However, the actress has been receiving support from other areas and singer Lady Gaga has hit out at the critics, claiming that they are only trying to bring Lindsay down.
Gaga tweeted her support to Lohan, saying, “@lindsaylohan you did a beautiful job on Liz & Dick, Let no one bring u down, Liz didnt, they always try to knock the greats down a few pegs”.

Lindsay also felt that she was right for the role, as she feels that she and Elizabeth have a lot of similarities in their lives. She said at the time, “I think we have a lot of similarities, with growing up famous her whole life and living your life in the public eye.”
Lindsay Lohan will next appear alongside James Deen, Gus Van Sant, Nolan Gerard Funk and Amanda Brooks in the Paul Schrader movie The Canyons, which is expected to be released next year.
