Glee actress Lea Michele has revealed how, when she was younger, some casting directors would request that she have plastic surgery on her nose in order to get the role she was after. However, Lea claims that her mother would not let her ever do such a thing, stating that living legend Barbra Streisand never did such a thing, so why should she.
Michele explained, "I went to meet a manager who said, you have to get a nose job in order for me to work with you. My mother would say to me, 'Barbra Streisand never got a nose job. You're not getting a nose job.' And this was before I really even knew who Barbra was. I just knew that she was, like, the messiah for girls like me."
Lea Michele has had to put up with many criticisms for a lot of her acting career and in the summer of 2010, Lea decided to lose weight and put her weight loss down to having surgery on her jaw. She does, however, insist that she still eats more than most people could dream of, due to her Italian roots. Lea Michele can be seen reprising her role of Rachel Berry in the current season of Glee on Fox.
