Almost the second it was announced that Marvel were pushing ahead with the big screen adaptation of Guardians of the Galaxy, people were speculating which actors would play which characters. There have been a number of names linked to the role of Peter Quill aka Star-Lord and now, Lee Pace has confirmed that he is auditioning for the role.
Lee told MTV News, “I go in on Monday to meet them all and audition for it, so wish me luck. I'm very excited about it. The script is great. The character is a lot of fun. I have been [reading up on Star-Lord]. You want to know what you're doing. The character is a lot of fun. I hope it works out.”
Pace then went on to discuss whether he thought he had a genuine chance at landing the role, “We'll see. We'll see. I've got to audition. I've got to go get it. I actually love auditioning, so I'm happy to go meet them all and do it,” he added.
Lee Pace can next be seen on the big screen in the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, where he plays the character Thranduil. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is set to be released in the UK on December 13 and in the US on December 14.
