Leighton Meester has become one of the most recognised faces around, thanks to her performances as Blair in the hit The CW television drama Gossip Girl. Leighton auditioned for Gossip Girl way back in 2006 but she can still remember the whole audition process and was so glad to get the part, as it meant that she could finally move to New York.
Meester explained, “I started auditioning back in December 2006. The process was really long. At the time, I wanted to move to New York, but I didn’t have a reason or any money. So when my agent sent me the Gossip Girl script, I thought Blair was perfect for me. Originally the script had my character suffering from an eating disorder but they ended up taking it out.”
Gossip Girl is now well into its fifth season and recently reached a milestone, as it celebrated its 100th episode. Leighton Meester has been a key member of the cast for the majority of those 100 episodes and is likely to continue to be for many more to come.
