Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the biggest stars on the face of the Earth, giving us some of the best performances the big screen has ever seen. During his career, Leonardo has earned himself four Oscar nominations during his career, with the first one coming for his performance in the movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape.
Leonardo DiCaprio was dead set on landing the role in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, even turning down a huge offer to play the lead role in the 1993 movie Hocus Pocus, despite having not even auditioned for What's Eating Gilbert Grape at the time. Fortunately it was a very good move by Leonardo and he has admitted that he prides himself on his choices.
DiCaprio explained, "I don't know where the hell I got the nerve. You live in an environment where you're influenced by people telling you to make a lot of money and strike while the iron's hot. But if there's one thing I'm very proud of, it's being a young man who was sticking to my guns."
Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated for the Best Actor in a Leading Role Oscar at this years Academy Awards for his performance in The Wolf of Wall Street. Despite facing stiff competition from Christian Bale for American Hustle, Bruce Dern for Nebraska, Chiwetel Ejiofor for 12 Years a Slave and Matthew McConaughey for Dallas Buyers Club, we tip Leonardo DiCaprio to win his first ever Oscar.
