It just goes to show that there are actually plenty of people in the world today who are above the law, and it seems that it definitely helps to be one of the most famous people on the planet. There have been many situations over the years, where a high-profile name has managed to get away with doing something that the everyday ordinary Joe would have been seriously punished for.
The latest evidence of this is British Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, who has just been let off with reckless and dangerous driving, without even getting a slap on the wrist. Lewis shared a video of himself riding a motorbike, which shows that he clearly had to use his mobile phone to film himself on the bike, which is completely reckless and very dangerous, but Hamilton will not be punished.
A statement reveals, "Auckland City Police will be taking no further action in relation to recent media publicity about Lewis Hamilton and his motorcycle journey in Auckland. The video footage available does not provide us with sufficient enough evidence that an offence has occurred. We would like to reiterate our earlier statements that police take the issue of mobile phone use whilst driving or riding very seriously. It is a significant distraction and a major risk to all road users."
It is about time that these stars started getting held responsible for their reckless actions. If that had have been any other person without the fame and fortune, they would have been slapped with a fine and even a ban. Instead of letting these stars off, let's start making an example of them, so that others can see that they are not above the law. Shocking!
