With the 2013 Oscars just around the corner, many people have been talking about which of the nominated stars deserve to win in which category. However, there are a number of performances that have been overlooked by the Academy and here, we give you three Oscar worth performances that have not been nominated.
Michael Shannon - Premium Rush

Some of you may raise your eyebrows at this suggestion but we absolutely loved Michael Shannon's performance in Premium Rush. The film itself has not received as much credit as it deserves but Michael Shannon was fantastic. While Michael has that fierce persona about him, he also manages to make you laugh with his numerous failed attempts to catch Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Liam Neeson - The Grey

Liam Neeson is undoubtedly one of the most talented actors around. He has been putting in fantastic performances for years and The Grey is one of his best. Liam's ability to take a character that is on the brink of suicide and bring him round to the love of life, in life threatening situations, is not an easy thing to do but Liam was very convincing and reminded us all why he is one of Hollywood's best.
Suraj Sharma - Life of Pi

While Life of Pi has received huge critical acclaim and has been nominated for a whole host of awards, one person who has been overlooked is Suraj Sharma. People have been raving about the impressive effects and CGI but what they fail to mention is how impressive Suraj was with this. For the majority of the movie, Suraj Sharma is surrounded by green screen and a CGI tiger, so is effectively acting against nothing, but he is thoroughly convincing and very impressive in his performance.
