Liam Neeson has recently re-invented his career – the actor, who has formerly starred in such Oscar winning movies as ‘Schindler’s List’ has recently been taking more and more action roles (although he did do Star Wars: Phantom Menace quite a while ago). Asked why action appeals to him in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter (while promoting Taken 2), he says, "[Action] appeals to the little boy inside of me," he said. "There’s a wonderful release that comes with that physicality. The lovely thing about doing Taken 2 is there’s quite a lot of action, but then there were wonderful days that were just acting with [co-stars] Maggie Grace or Famke Janssen. They were almost luxurious because you had no physical stuff to do and could just act."
He also adds working with a French director created a very different vibe on set than what he was used to – he says, "There is an energy and dynamism with a French crew that’s very sexy and attractive. British and American crews are generally 80 percent male, but it seems like 40 to 45 percent of French crews are female, and that’s terrific."
Taken 2 will be released on October 5th, 2012.
